"Angie" is one of the original Girls, the benchmark workouts that are done all over the world in Crossfit Boxes. This specific one was first programmed in 2005 so has been around for a couple of years. To my knowledge, it's the first time we "do her" at Verftet. What was it like?
Sometimes a picture says more than a thousand words.
The recipe of 100 reps of all bodyweight movements, presents a challenge to find intensity without failure. The biggest part of the workout should be done with good mechanics and good form. And yes, after enough reps, there should also be a little part where things start to hurt a bit. But that should be the minority of today's training.
A lot of people did some smart scaling to find a number of repetitions combined with their scale of movements to get a good and challenging workout in. Bands, adjustable pull-up bars, rings, it was all there. After all, we are not practicing how to do half, poor or risky movements, we are practicing how to get better at fitness for life. It's not what you do, it's how you do it.
An honorable mention goes out to Madelen & Kine, who visited today and won the dessert at the 16:00 class, just like Thor Ăystein and Hermann won dessert at the 17:30 class. Dig in and enjoy it, you have earned your carbs!
Tomorrow will bring us a completely different, but similar challenge. It will get tough, it will get heavy, you will have to push to get through it and it will do good things for your mental and physical fitness.
