Vi fikk oss jo alle en overraskelse forrige uke nĂ„r vinteren (forhĂ„pentligvis) stakk innom for siste gang đŸ«Ł Den var ikke velkommen hos mej hvertfall og vi hĂ„per at nĂ„ fremover er det mer bar asfalt, solskinn og VÅRfeeling!! đŸŒ·


I helga hadde vi jo vĂ„r Ă„rlige Team konkurranse for Ă„ runde av Open med et skikkelig smell! đŸ’„ Det var megagod stemning, smoothies og rĂ„ innsats fra folket som var med đŸ‹ïžâ€â™€ïž




Vi hĂ„per folk koste seg, og kom gjerne med tilbakemld om det er noe vi kan gjĂžre bedre til neste konkurranse. 😌

No more working around it; we've got your back (pun intended).

We are introducing a new service to help people overcome pain and return to doing the activities they love. This way, we hope to keep and get more people fitter.


Let me explain. The thing that got me (Thaddeus) to not like but love CrossFit is the sickness-wellness-fitness continuum. In his 2002 article "What is Fitness" Coach Glassman uses four models to define and explain what fitness is and how you can work on it. One of those models is a continuum from sickness to wellness and fitness, where fitness is a sort of super-healthyness, and being injured/in pain/sick is a sort of suboptimal health. Any metric, like body weight, for example, can be measured and indicates a state of being sick (underweight or morbidly obese), healthy, or fit. There is more explanation in this video.


It made me transition my work from taking care of sickness to taking care of more fitness, from reactive to proactive, from a clinic and hospital to the gym.


At Verftet, and in all the boxes our coaches have visited around the world, we see athletes who always have to substitute that one movement. For example, people who never deadlift but squat, those who never run but take the rower, and those who can never go overhead and always do ring rows instead. We hear about people not even starting CrossFit because they can not do every exercise yet, or people dropping out because they are tired of working around an issue in class instead of improving on it. We get it, when you are in pain, it sucks, and you just want to get back to doing the things you love.
